Mega Ran's penchant for storytelling has impressed retro gamers while garnering respect from Hip-Hop's harshest critics. An incredible impromptu "freestyle" MC, Random's unique combination of fantasy and introspective hip-hop has found its way into TV shows, movies, video games, and even coursework at several universities.
A little bit Nintendo, a little bit dance pop, and more than a handful of fun. These are the ingredients which make up D&D Sluggers. From their port town of Wilmington, NC, the dynamic duo of Soultron and Hyphen utilize a Game Boy DMG and Nintendo DS in harmony with guitar, synths and vocals to create seriously catchy music about love, life, perseverance and Pokemon.
With rich soprano vocals and aggressive, "pop-metal" acoustic guitar riffs, Amanda Lepre's music feels like strapping on armor and suiting up for an epic journey. Her driving melodies and lyric imagery make it easy to picture the heroes of classic literature and video games that often inspire her songwriting. Amanda's first full-length album, Beneath the Forest of Error, is a progressive, acoustic-metal journey of heroism, triumph, and despair.
Nashville-based Professor Shyguy is the poor nerd's Justin Timberlake: a dance-y, pop-y, nerd-y chiptune composer/performer bent on moving people's feet. His music embodies the notion that fun doesn't have to be stupid, and smart doesn't have to be boring.

crashfaster Album Release Party with Bit Shifter, Trash80 & Unwoman 11.14.13
San Francisco chiptune staple crashfaster has spent the past two years evolving from a gameboy-weilding solo act into a snarling, four-bodied electro-rock monster. The band is releasing Further: an eleven song concept album that deals with isolation, assimilation, accomplishment and resultant emptiness, wrapped in a space punk aesthetic. Further was produced by Patrick Brown (Toro Y Moi, The Frail) at San Francisco recording studio Different Fur.
DNA Lounge is not only the adopted birthplace of crashfaster, but the premiere San Francisco venue for the growing chip scene, and has worked with 8bitSF for over four years.
Supported by the phenomenal acts Bit Shifter (NYC), Trash80 (LA), Unwoman (who is featured on Further), DJ Doctor Popular and visuals by Noukon this show will be an absolutely massive celebration, and everyone in attendance will receive a free download of the album!
